"THE" Solo

Since distance separates from life's moments, I decided to capture one and allow you to see it for yourself.  This is Addison's first solo in church without her trusted little band of choir members she joins every Sunday night!  And the truth of the matter is, she actually thought they were going to be with her this time too.....she was tricked.....not by me tho.  I was nervous enough because I hadn't a clue what to expect!  Anyway, here goes.....

  1. Awww! She did great! Abby is so excited - that is her favorite song. She wanted to know ALL the logistics (where is her Mommy and Daddy, why can't I see her dress, who's up there with her, and the list goes on) so could you please provide this info for her. I'm not sure who she takes after with all the questions??? Tell Addison that I wish I could have been there to see it and that Abby says that her singing is pretty and she wants to sing with her...Could you please get a closer shot of her clothes next time for Abby!! Love you.

  2. Dear Abby.... :-)

Had I known it would matter so much, I would have actually gotten out of my seat and went to the front to take this video! Actually I wished I would have even before you began the interrogation process! Next time I will....however I had just come in from work and service had already started so I ended up plopping on a close seat to the back, not anticipating that Addie would e second in line and would perform as a soloist. Now that hind sight is 20/20, next time I will be better prepared!

Addison's dress is blue and lime green! You can't miss her! Reba is her choir leader and who is up there helping her sing. Addison never looked at a soul the entire time she sang other than Reba. So, now that Addison has sung your favorite song, upon the next visit to nana and papa's, you two will have to be prepared to sing a diet of this song! However, as you can tell, it may take some practice as there's a little bit of high note in the middle of the chorus that could have used a little more practice.....but hopefully you also noticed that the third time was the charm!

  3. Two typos - I apologize! "e" is supposed to be "be"...and "diet" is supposed to be "duet!". That's what I get for commenting from my phone!!

  4. Sooooo sweet! Had to listen to it again this AM. Lo and behold . . . tears in my eyes! I'm so proud of you, Addison. Nana will have to do something VERY special for you when I come to Savannah to see you, won't I?

Was this a graduation service, Anita? Nana and Papa should have been there!

Keep singing Addison. I love you, darling!

  5. I will be more than happy to hold the camera next time...guarantees that my big head won't be viewed throughout the entire production...

In addition, Addie's cousin Hailey sang first and after Addie finished singing second, Hailey said "Yep called us two first, they know the Miles' girls can sing."

While not a real humble comment, I have to agree...

  6. Don't feel too bad, Gregg...yours wasn't the only head being viewed. At least we were able to get a SLIGHT glimpse of Addi between you and the brother in front of you. Next time SOMEBODY needs to go the front pew to record my gal. Just say it's Papa and Nana's fault!

Not a bit proud of those little gals are ya! :)
