WOW!!

Well, we arrived at NQC yesterday afternoon. It has been AWESOME, and we've just attended one program. We have 3 on the agenda today. Everyone has sung great. There's been lots of fun and laughs and plenty of tears.

Why tears, well, you know I cry at the drop of a bucket anyway, but I'll have to tell you about the Greenes. I'm a big "Greenes" fan anyway....so I've been holding on to this story to post until I saw them with my own eyes! I've seen them before, but I was really anxious for this time. The Greene's consist of a husband and wife team, Tony and Taranda, and another guy named Jeff. I'll post pictures. Well, Tony was diagnosed with end stage renal failure a few years ago and has been undergoing peritoneal dialysis until he developed infections, then began hemodialysis. His only hope was a kidney transplant.

A few weeks ago, a letter was attached to their website. On August 25th, Tony and Taranda underwent surgery. Taranda, to give her kidney - Tony, to receive it. You can check it all out on their website. Taranda's letter is on page 6 of 13 for their updates.

Last night was the first night for both of them back on stage. Just walking on stage got them a standing ovation - and many tears. Then they sang "There's a Miracle in Me." That got a major standing ovation. Tony said that the doctors told them if they would have been born twins, there was not a possibility that they could have been a more perfect match for the transplant. They sang 2 more songs...."God Has A Better Plan" and "Hold On"....both of which fit the moment.

They got like a 5 minute round of applause. I was tickled pink to get to witness the moment....it was definitely the show-stopper of the night. People were even talking about it on the shuttle ride back to the hotel.

Gotta go. Will write more soon.....

I am SOOO jealous of not being there with you! I, too, love the Greenes. Guess right now I'm needed here! Anita, I am so glad you are getting these few days to enjoy yourself with one of the passions of your life. I know it's tough being with a little one 24/7 - with only 8-10 hours per week away from her when you work your DAY. Sometimes you just need the solitude to get your sanity back, huh? Would sure like to see Laura and Don be able to get away alone for a day or two. Maybe soon. Enjoy yourselves. Addison is doing fine. Love you!
