Little Abby

Poor Abby has had a month of "issues." Bless her little heart, she just can't seem to get well.

The easiest way I can think of to keep up on this, is to post it here, and let Mom comment as much as she can any updates. I won't have access to a computer most of the day, so, since there's instant access to the comment section, this should be easy.

Just to inform / update you, since I was probably the last one to talk to Laura at 1:00 am this morning, Abby is in Mobile, AL in the Children's and Women's hospital. She was taken to the ER in Chatom last night for fevers and difficulty breathing. Chatom is a rural hospital, and after seeing two different doctors last night (which is a MAJOR miracle in and of itself) she was transferred to Mobile by ambulance for respiratory distress. Before leaving she received a shot of steroids and therefore her breathing was just a bit better before she arrived in Mobile.

The last I talked to Laura, the flu test was negative, and they were getting ready to run a "series of viral test" .......RSV, and other respiratory viruses, althought they had already given the diagnosis of croup. It does not help that Abby has been diagnosed with asthma, per her local family doctor. She does have lung problems anyway, so any little trigger seems to set her off.

Please pray for Laura and Don, as at this time, they need the comfort the most.

Abby seemed to be improving, although the doctor said it could get worse before she gets better...which is the reason they stayed in the hospital.

Haven't talked to her this morning, but will post again as soon as I hear something.

We are praying, seeking THE Healer today for little Abby (and Zach and Addison as Mama said they are sick too.)

THE Comforter is very near the Longs and Daughertys today -- very near in trouble!

Mikayla is undergoing tests for diabetes, had a score of 191 at physical Monday. We believe God to heal her!

Just talked to Laura and Don. They expect Abby to be discharged in a little while if she can keep her oxygen saturation above 92%. It dropped to 93% during the night and they are giving her around the clock treatments of inhaled epinephrine. Don says oxygen is staying around 96% right now.

Aunt Linda, keep us informed with Mikayla!

Just talked to Laura. Holding Abby at this time. Said it would be at least 1 before possibility of discharge. IF she needs another breathing treatment, then it will be AT LEAST another 6 hours before discharge. Her cell phone was about to go dead, so we didn't talk long. Couldn't reach the room phone without disturbing Abby and Don had gone to get a drink. LB sounds exhausted. Will try to keep this updated as much as possible. Zach's temp is normal - coughing is much less at this time. Giving him Robitussin DM as needed. Addison is doing fine. Continues on antibiotics for tonsilitis. Was a little warm feeling this AM. Motrin given. Do I sound like I'm giving morning report at the hospitial? LOL. Will try to keep everybody updated as much as possible.

Trusting the Lord that Mikayla tests are negative for diabetes. God's able to veto that one! Trusting for His umbrella of health for all of our children!! Love to each of you.

2:30 PM: Just talked to LB. Still at hosptial. When Abby woke up @ 12:45, she was as bad as she was when the initially took her to ER. Gave another breathing tx - different med. If she's better at 3:00, they will discharge her. Croup remains as diagnosis. LB said she had the classic croup "bark" the whole time the MD was in the room. Will continue to update.

12:00 am Thursday night - Spoke with Mom and Laura earlier tonight. Abby was discharged from the hospital later this afternoon. About 20 minutes into the ride home after stopping for prescriptions, Abby had a relapse and went into major respiratory distress. They turned back around and went right back to the hospital. She was readmitted to the same room where she was. Laura text me around 10:30 to tell me that Abby had received another shot of steroids and some breathing treatments and had kinda calmed down. No further word at this time.

Will update in the morning.
